Starting Cut-Scene - Draft

Video games in general have a visual story telling of some sort and here at Future app we really wanted to show our player just how interesting, and at times how sad these stories can be. For our upcoming game, Phantom Projects, we want to make sure that we capture these emotions as best we can.

Our Level Designer and Animator worked together to bring life to some great ideas, that will be showcased at certain points in the game.

Although it is still in the draft stage, we are excited to provide our community with some inside of the first cut-scene the player will get to see when they start the game.

Humankind is on the brink of extinction. Creatures of unknown origin have arrived on earth, relentlessly attacking people and destroying their homes. Countless cities have fallen and many have lost their lives.

After many countless struggles, hope was quickly fading for humankind. A village of survivors is trying its best to save what’s left of their families and belongings. They receive a strange visit by armed forces who use a special gas to knock the innocent people unconscious, abducting them for their nefarious purposes.

The mysterious organisation injected people with the dark blood extracted from the corpses of the invading creatures. The process kills most of them, but after many failed experiments, a new hope for humankind emerges. With no recollections of what has happened to you and stuck in a bunker full of monsters and enemies, the fate of the world is in your hands...

To reach out to everyone in our new community, along with the narrator talking during the cut-scenes, we will be adding subtitles at the bottom of the screen as an accessibility feature.

We have also created a draft of what the cut-scene might look like, to provide a better understanding of how it would be played out.

Phantom Projects Draft Cut-scene

We hope that the player and our community will enjoy the cutscenes we make as well as the story. We've spent countless hours talking about it and switching between ideas, adding little elements or removing others to produce a final, complete piece. With that being said we strive to do our best as production continues and we are implementing new designs and techniques so that when it's time to deliver our final game - both us as a team and our player base will be pleased.
