Sound Design - Music Drafts

Games without music and sound effects tend to be simple and boring. To make the players experience more enjoyable, it is essential that we add music and sound effects to our game to create a more dramatic environment. Our Sound Engineer was able to produce 2 music drafts for our upcoming game, Phantom Projects.

The first draft is for the background music that'll play during the players first boss fight. In order to produce a suitable sound track for this encounter, our Sound Engineer had to account for how intense the moment would be. For the duration of the fight, the background music for this boss battle should highlight this tense atmosphere adding more depth to the player's experience.

The second music draft is for the game's main menu. When launching the game, the first thing the player will see is the main menu screen. To give the player a good first impression of the game, this sound track will be played in the background of the main menu. This is important as it will give the player a small sample of the kind of music they'll be experiencing during their gameplay.

Our Sound Engineer took in to consideration the type of game that Phantom Projects will be. Using the games background story as inspiration and combining heavy metal, rock, electric guitar and a bit of piano, they were able to create the perfect ambience.

We will continue improving and creating more music samples and sound effects during the development of Phantom Projects. We will make sure to keep informing our community on the progress we have made through this blog. Let us know how you feel about these two drafts as any feedback provided is valuable to us. 🙂
